Hey everybody! Again so sorry about the delay with posts. But man Costa Rica has been so much fun. Last Tuesday (January 19) we had our first adventure day. One of our hosts friends Mauricio is being so helpful and driving all over. He first took us to his home and made us an amazing spaghetti lunch! Afterwards we hiked up a bit and got to see a look out seeing the country side. then Mauricio took us on a trip to a river near his house and we got to swim all around. And of course the only one to fall into the river on the way there was yours truly. Luckily I handed my phone to someone like 30 seconds before I fell. Mauricio and his daughter then took us some amazing natural hot springs. The water is heated by a volcano and it felt just like laying down in a hot tub. Honestly this was so needed. We all where so content just laying there for like 2.5 hours. I never have felt more refreshed then after that moment.

So that night we stayed at Tony’s church in Los Chiles so that we could sleep a bit longer and be able to get to the school we where serving at in a timely matter. The next day going to the school I really did not know what we where in for. When we got there about 30 kids waiting there for us. And I have never felt more welcome then when we arrived! They where so energetic and so full of joy! we got to pray for them and teach them “Jesus loves me”. And play soooo many games with them. One boy who stuck with me the whole time was named Abdiel. He learned that I owned a car back in the states and said he wanted to be just like me so he could get one. Me and him couldn’t speak the same language but we communicated none the less. He prayed for me and when the translator told me that he asked God just to bless me and thanked God that we got to hang out all day. I am 100% with him on that, being with Abdiel and just hanging out with him and seeing a child’s faith was so touching. I cannot wait to go hang out there again!

So BIG NEWS me and my team are officially in Costa Rica until February 20th. Then about a 4 or 5 day debrief with my whole squad. And afterwards………………we are off to Guatemala!!! I am so excited for the rest of the time here in Costa Rica and can’t wait to share what God is doing in me and what he is teaching me!

God bless and go tell someone you love them!!!

  1. Sounds like Father is blessing you on many different levels!
Keep on being a source of blessing and encouragement to each one Father places before you!!

  2. Costa Rica sounds exactly the way I thought it would, awesome!!! Glad you were able to put a smile on the kids face and it doesn’t surprise me that Abdiel was drawn to your winning personality. Hot springs is something I always wanted to try, I’m a little jealous lol. We miss you on this side, the pics you posted helped. Can’t wait to hear about Guatemala.
